First Baptist Church in Charlestown (first) is dedicated.

It is located at the corner of High Street and Pearl Street [Salem Street-CHS]. Rev. Thomas Waterman is the first pastor. The church is replaced by a new building (second) on Austin Street in 1810,* another (third) on Lawrence Street in 1843,* and another on Austin Street in 1861.*
